What to Wear this year- 2023-24

We have a studio policy to please cover up your stomach while in class!  We prefer to just focus on dance, cheer and tumbling and not comparing our bodies to other students.  

Tiny Twos and Preschool Dance classes: Pink ballet shoes are required.  Any dance outfit is fine for this class.  Please nothing big and baggy.

All Combo Classes: Tan Turners are required shoes for these classes.  Please see the shoe blog for ordering information. Dancers should wear form fitting dance clothing, not baggy outfits and not school clothing.  Legging, tank tops, leotards, booty shorts, capri pants are all allowed for combo classes.

Turners can be ordered on Amazon by searching "Tan leather turners".  Please to be sure to only order leather (not canvas) and tan (not pink) turners for combo classes, contemporary and all company dance classes.  

Tap classes: the shoe ordering information is on the shoe blog.  Form fitting dance clothing should be worn in tap class.  Please order black tap shoes ASAP so your child has them for classes once they begin.

Modern/Contemporary classes: Turners or bare feet. Form fitting dancewear should be worn, nothing big and baggy.

Ballet Classes: Ballet students will be required to wear a leotard and ballet shoes that fit to ballet class each week. The leotard can be any color and style. Pink tights are recommended but not required. NO STRETCH PANTS AND T-SHIRTS anymore in ballet classes. Ballet Skirts, booty shorts, or tightly fitted biker shorts will be optional as well. During the cold months dancers may warm up with jackets and warm leggings for the 1st 10 minutes of class. 

  Hair should be pulled back in a BUN, BUNS, FRENCH TWIST, OR FRENCH BRAIDS. Any bun will do(low, high, 2 buns, messy buns, classic buns, just so hair is secured back)Long ponytails just become a big distraction during turning sections of class so, NO PONYTAILS. If your students hair is shorter than shoulder length they may have a tight ponytail. Please do not send students to class with hair down and a hair elastic on their wrist to pull it back themselves. They just end up playing with their hair all through class and it is often a fight to get them to pull their hair back.

Hip Hop classes: Baggy, clothing that you can move in is appropriate for this class.  All dancewear is acceptable as well.  Sneakers need to be worn in class.  We will be ordering hip hop shoes to go with our costumes for the year, that information will be updated here. 

Jazz classes: Students should wear form fitting dance/athletic wear.  nothing big and baggy

Competition Dancers- Required leggings or shorts and team tank or t-shirt. Turners for classes.  Nothing big or baggy and hair should be up and out of the way.  

Cheer: Cheerleaders should wear form fitting athletic wear that they can move in. Please wear hair up in a pony tail and no jewelry!  All cheerleaders need the shoes below:

Tumbling classes:  Form fitting athleticwear that students can move in. Absolutely nothing big and baggy and no street clothing should be worn.  No levis ever. Hair should be up and out of the way.

Spirit Cheer Teams will be using the purple poms from last year.  If you have any you want to sell, please bring them to the gym in a clear gallon storage bag clearly labeled with your child's name and phone number on the bag. Competition team girls can all sell theirs down if you want to. 

All competition team members will be getting a different color of poms this year.  

This is a new uniform year- we will use uniforms for 2 years (ordering them every even year) 2022, 2024, etc...

ENTERPRISE ELITE CHEER INFO

We are switching to a new platform for registration and payments. All the information is on the website www.thepointdance.com  the new platform is GOMOTION.

Our new season 2022-23 will begin on Aug. 29th! We are currently trying to secure a location in Enterprise! 

We are so excited to get our program going in Enterprise.  Currently classes are going to be held in the Beryl Community Center- 291 N. Beryl Hwy.

These are the cheer shoes that will be worn by ALL of our cheer teams this next season so if you need to order our child some, please do so ASAP as most companies are still trying to recover from the lingering effects of covid/shipping problems.

Students should wear form fitting clothing to both tumbling and cheer classes.  Nothing big and baggy so when they tumble, their shirt doesn't go over their head and when they stunt, and the clothing doesn't hinder them when either flying or basing other students. 

You should receive an email at the first of each month (or more often) with information that you will need to know.  However, This blog is the BEST SOURCE OF INFO for all parents.  This is updated regularly! Performance Tights

 Here is a list of performance tights needed for dancers.  You can pick up an order form in the main dance studio lobby and give it to any teacher any time between now and Nov. 10th.  I have them at my home and I will send them home with your child from their dance class the following week from when they are ordered.  I don't order them for everyone because some of you already have them from previous years and some do not have them yet- I just don't know who needs them and who has them already.  I do ask that you get them from me so that all legs are the same color on the stage. 

Tights are used INSTEAD of underwear for dancers, please no underwear in costumes. We don't like them peeking out of leotards and we don't like underwear lines for those wearing leggings. (It's a dancer thing)

PARKING LOT

Parents,
   I have been contacted by my landlord about his concerns with the parking lot situation.  First, there is great concern for the safety of all of the kids going in and out and running across the path of cars, second our long line of vehicles waiting to either pick up or drop off kids is becoming difficult for other businesses during business hours.  They have asked a couple of things of each of us.
** Please use the parking stalls if you are coming into the studio to pick up your child. The length of the building is NOT for parking at ANYTIME!  As long as vehicles continue to drop off and pick up children and the flow of cars moves along, it is fine to drive by the length of the building, however if you are going to be there more then a minute or two, please pull into a parking stall and wait for your child, or park and come into the building to get your child.We cannot wait in front of other businesses and their doors of operation or their garage doors and block their way.
** Please remember to not remain in the same spot and have other vehicles have to pass you between them and the parking stalls as we feel this is a huge safety issue for kids running out in front of parked vehicles and being hit by vehicles passing the parked vehicles.
**After business hours we are pretty much the only unit open, so we have a little more freedom to wait a little longer for our child but we still need to think safety as it is dark and kids do run out across the lot and could easily be hit.
** Our landlord has been really great to work with and has asked us to think safety first instead of convenience as it could mean the difference in a child being hit or not.  If we can do this we can continue to use the length of the building to drop off and pick up, if it continues to be a problem for other units in the building, they will enforce more strict regulations on us in the future.   Hopefully we can all work together to make it work!
